Politico listed the Democratic Senators who called on Al Franken to resign and those who didn’t. Chris Coons, Jeanne Shaheen, and Brian Schatz couldn’t comment due to being on the Ethics Committee. That left the following:
Richard Blumenthal (CT) — Stated that he wanted to wait until Franken addressed the issue before commenting.
Chris Van Hollin (MD) — Declined to give a definitive answer on whether Franken should resign.
Ben Cardin (MD) — Said he would make a judgment after Franken spoke.
Amy Klobuchar (MN) — Said before his announcement that she was confident he would make the right decision after talking with him. Afterward, said resignation is the right decision, which they had previously discussed.
Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) Said that "sexual harassment in any context is unacceptable", but didn’t directly call for resignation.
Bob Menendez (NJ) — Probably in his best interests to not comment on anything ethics-related.
Mark Warner (VA) — I didn’t find any comment on Franken.
Tim Kaine (VA) — Claimed that he told Franken privately that he needed to step down.
Joe Manchin (WV) — Said that Franken should have been able to go through the process and would have been able to do so without resigning.
Depending on your view, you might see them as heroes who refused to railroad Al Franken or cowards who refused to speak on an issue of great significance, but here they are.
